Looks like the retransmission agreement may be up for renewal...
Then I guess the current deal was only 3 years long then.

ADDED: Changed "franchise" to "retransmission"

I wonder what this means for KDSM FOX 17?
Just what many people don't need is a $5 increase on their TV bill to pay for this crap from Sinclair. If this happens which knowing Sinclair it will :(

It's not the franchise agreement but the retransmission consent agreement.
If Mediacom caves this time, like they admitted to in 2007, it will be the last straw for me and I will leave Mediacom video behind forever. I have not watched the local CBS affiliate since this Sinclair Mediacom battle ended 3 years ago. I am guessing the local Fox affiliate will be affected this time around too. If so, I will not watch it anymore even if I go to OTA or a dish. I can do without watching either one.

Probably the same 3 year agreement applies to all the stations listed in the Mutichannel News article.
As for the increase, probably more like 25-50 cents/sub.....and we all have been paying for it since the last price increase, as I'll bet Mediacom has already been collecting it the past few months.

back to the topic at hand, has either party learned anything from the last squabble? Do they really want to go through the bad press and mud slinging?
