[Internet] open up ports

how to I open up ports on the 3wire modem?what section of the 192.168.2.1 modem web page do I go too?
look at the pic of the tech support from one of the monkeys...can you believe he would not help...can I rat on him?

Hello shwing! I'm going to assume you have the default modem Bell gives out.

you go to "Home Network" at the top

Under "Local Devices" click the "Edit Application Settings" for the computer you're trying to forward ports for. Enter your password

Check off "Allow individual application(s) "
On the dropdown menu, choose "User-defined"

At the bottom of the (Should be) blank list. Click the link that says "• Add a new user-defined application"

Enter a profile name, enter the ports and click Add Definition.

Then on the list, click the new profile you just added and choose "Add".

Save your settings.

You can also forward ALL ports to one computer by activating "DMZ-Plus" mode for that computer. This is what I use for my Apple router. that way my Apple router controls port access.

Haha, those chats could get pretty funny. As far as technical support goes, I don't like the online chat. But they're great for billing questions! :P

And haha, They would have loved to hear what it was for. So they could try to sell you Bell home Phone :P

thanks, I was able to open away, no wonder I didn't see the "Add a new user-defined application" because it is purposely tiny
how cheesy is that...they sure do not care about their image
