[Equipment] SPA 3102 vs Small Business Pro SPA3102

Can someone explain the difference between these 3102 atas.

I am looking for a reliable standalone FXO and/or FXS and just noticed the Pro 3102 model.

I have read some recent posts about echo and gain. can anyone comment on the general acceptability of this product. Is it a good buy, or should I look elsewhere?

I think it's the same, just had its name changed from "Linksys SPA3102" to "Cisco Small Business Pro SPA3102" when they moved all the VoIP devices from the Linksys site to the Cisco site.

In general I've never liked the 3000 series of devices from Sipura/Linksys/Cisco. Painful echo, strange odditities, and an all around mediocre integration with the PSTN. I have had better quality with cheap knock off X100P cards found on eBay for $20 when used with asterisk on a cheap PC.

Of course, it really depends on what the intended application is, but that's my experience.

While I haven't been scrambling for the lowest cost providers, with all of the recent application of fees, the cost of an monthly or annual "unlimited" byod and the cost of a FIOS phone line under a triple play seem comparable and just sounds easier to go with an FXO to get the PSTN into my home phone solution, which is right now asterisk with a bunch of FXS's.
