[Connectivity] Random Disconnect of 2-4 seconds

Would appreciate hearing your thoughts as to what the root cause is here>

1. Location: Salt Lake City UT (HOLLA)

2. Problem: Random 2-4 second disconnects from the modem's ethernet port. AND Occasional modem offline and unable to resync for 2-20 minutes (Hangs at "Obtain Upstream Parameters")

4. Modem: Moto SB5101
Software Version: SB5101-2.7.6.0-GA-00-NOSH
Hardware Version: 1

5. Router: Linksys RTP300 (Vonage)
Firmware Version: 1.01.07

6. Microsoft Onecare Firewall and AV (hey, it was free)

Cable is a short run about 25 feet with one splitter. A tech replaced the splitter and checked the connections about 60 days ago (problem then was fading upstream channel)

Upstream is pretty low. Your modem is not working very hard to "talk" above the noise floor. I like to see upstream in the 40s to be comfortable, especially in a DOCSIS 3 capable system.

What this guy said. Your upstream is only a 33 it is recommended to be above 35db TX..in all honesty I perfer to see it above 40 also. So you might wanna schedule an appt.

Upstream is currently 35.7 dBmV. I'll keep an eye on it and if it drops will call for a tech.
