I just got FIOS installed with a Westell 9100. Despite my best efforts working with the firewall and the forwarding settings, nothing seems to work. When I input my address, I do not get redirected to an internal system, I only get my router's login page. Has anyone had experience with this? I know that the Westell 6100 on DSL used to have a firewall on the Verizon side that needed to be disabled, but I don't know anything about the 9100, and little is published yet.
Oddly, even if I DMZ a system, it still doesn't access that machine. All I get is my router's login page. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How are you testing this?

If you try to connect to your public IP from within your LAN, you will get what you describe. You need to have somebody try connecting from outside to test the forwarding.

I was testing from within. I tested from outside with my phone, and I can get to the web server if I DMZ it, but I cannot get to it unless I do. This tells me that it is a setting problem, but I don't know what other settings I am missing. I have the firewall on low, and a forwarding rule like this:

Local Host Local Network Protocols Status
Address Address

webserver Any Any Web - TCP 80 -> 80 Active

My web server's name is, orginally enough, web server, and it resolves fine. However, the same situation happens if I specify the IP address.

I realize that some may say Verizon is blocking 80. If that is the case, why would I get to it when it is DMZ'd? I would also like to run FTP and RDP. Of these services, RDP is more important, but web was easier to test with.

I appreciate the time taken to help on this issue. I am sure that such granularity when it comes to rules will be an asset, but it is a learning curve.

I am successfully forwarding port 25 and port 22. But that's with a 327w. I don't have access to a 9100, so I don't the details of how to setup port forwarding in those.
