327w as Modem AND Switch?
Can someone tell me if a 327w can act as a dsl modem and regular switch. For example my linksys Router will access the 327w to make my ppoe internet connection while the 3 additional ports on the 327w extend my existing 3 ports on my linksys router?
Is it as simple as setting the 327w as a bridge or do I need to configure something else for the 327w to act as a switch for the linksys router?

I doubt that you can do that.
If the 327w is set as a bridge, then all ethernet ports will correspond to the WAN side of your linksys. You can use one of those ports for the PPPoE, and the other three are useless.
One alternative would be to use the 327w as your router, with PPPoE on the 327w, and use the linksys as just a switch (disable DHCP on the linksys and use only the LAN ports).
Or just buy a switch. They are not very expensive.

Re: 327w as Modem AND Switch?
I was trying to be green since there's no reason to keep another device if one device can do the two things I needed. This would also free up an outlet so it's not about the money...
Would anyone know if any of the verizon dsl modems work like the 7500? Thanks again.

Re: 327w as Modem AND Switch?
The AND is the problem. There is no way to decouple built in Switch from the modem. If you set it to Bridge mode each device connected to the Switch is visible to ISP and needs to have an IP address assigned by Verizon. I assume this is a residential account with only one IP.
What is it you want to do that cannot be accomplished by the Westell 327W?

Re: 327w as Modem AND Switch?
well... my linksys is a WRTSL54GS operating at least 5 services a 327w would not be able to. The only reason I was asking was because I have used the 327w and I know it did not matter which port was connected to the router and a pppoe connection was working. I somehow assumed it would be configurable and isolate the other 3 ports to function as a simple switch.
