Lost connection

Hello,

I have been having a problem with my internet connection for the better part of a year now. I am actively playing an on-line game (Everquest) and it has gotten to the point of being a bit to annoying to play. Here's what it does: I'm in the middle of playing and my green ping bar starts to drop from 100% and usually gets down to about 75%, the back to 100%, then i get the you have been disconnected black screen. The router/modem (gateway) westell327w i have for my DSL service normally has 5 green lights lit up. When this happens..then 5th one (internet one) is off and the 4th one (dsl) is blinking. It literally only stays off for maybe a minute, which if in normal surfing the web moments is not a problem...but to a gamer...its enough to drive a guy crazy. Thanks for any help possible.

Hi marius08 -

Based on what you stated it sounds as though there is a problem on the line between the DSL modem and the phone companies central office. When the DSL light starts flashing and you lose sync there is a physical problem on the line itself. This is most commonly due to a device on the phone line that isn't properly filtered. Have you added a new phone, fax machine, alarm system, or TV receiver that plugs into the line?

Have you spoken to our support team regarding your issue? They can assist with opening up a trouble ticket with the Telco and have a Telco technician dispatched to your location if deemed necessary.

Sorry its been so long....here is the log. Maybe it will help determine the problem. This log shows not nearly as many dropouts as normal, but should get the idea of whats happeneing.

Hi marius08 -

Just wanted to confirm that you are a DSL Extreme client and not a Bell South client with their DSL Xtreme package. I ask because the VPI/VCI you have listed shows as 8/35 which isn't common with most of the services that we offer.
