i have a couple questions regarding dslextreme and my internet connection. ok, this is kind of lengthy so here we go. i was using a westell 327w wireless router/modem and verizon to get online. i switched to dslextreme because it is cheaper and supposed to be faster. i tried to use my westell with dslextreme and after a very long time on the phone w/tech support, i could not get it to work. i was told i could not use the westell with dslextreme so i had them send me one of their modems and was told i would have no problems if i used it. they sent me a dlink dsl-2320b modem. after hooking that up and configuring it, i could get online but it wouldn't open websites like yahoo or msn. it would open sites like google. it is also way slower than it was before i switched from verizon. oh and i can't connect wirelessly, just the other way with the ethernet cable. my first question is: has anybody ever had problems with dslextreme like i have? if so what can i do? my next question is: why wouldn't i be able to use my westell wirelessly? i appologize if these are amatuer questions, but i don't get it. any help would be much appreciated.

Hi urmom420 -

Do you have the full model number of the Westell modem. The only reason I could think that it wouldn't work would be if Verizon has locked that modem down so that you can only connect using their network. For example on a PPPoE connection it would only accept @ Verizon.net for the username.

Do you have access into the modem interface itself?
