E-mail-can send but not get - DSL Ultra
I have no clue what's wrong as I'm sure the settings 9 mail server0 is right. We can send nail but not get it.
On XP with Outlook Express
Login - xxxxx@bellsouth.net
We have the updated ATT Yahoo page
The settings are ...
Outgoing and Incoming - mail.bellsouth.net
Ports - 25/110
Modem - Alcaltel STH
Linksys WRT54G router
The strange thing is our laptop with the exact same settings can send and receive ok? I tried following the AT&T help center with setting up the Yahoo server bit and I got a "POP3 Error". I tried sending a e-mail from the laptop to the other pc and it's like the e-mail vanished, no error message, nothing. I'm puzzeled... any suggestions? Thanks

Well I feel like an idiot but I'm still unsure how or why one works and one won't. We can send and "get" mail via the Yahoo page but can only send via Outlook Express. Our last inbook email was rec'd at 7am Sunday morning. So I don't think it was anything on our end.
We're about to set up the new pc with Vista 64 so I'll crosss my fingers as to how the new email will work.

After migrating to the ATT/Yahoo platform, you have three options for configuring Outlook Express (or any email client) to work with the ATT/Yahoo platform.
The first method is to use the att.yahoo.com email SSL servers for incoming and outgoing. You will need to manually enter the port 465 setting for the outgoing server in the Advanced tab because Outlook Express will not do this automatically.

The second method is to use the att.yahoo.com SSL email server for incoming and and the legacy att.net SSL server for outgoing. You will need to manually enter the port 465 setting in the Advanced tab (which I did not show because it looks the same as I previously posted above) because Outlook Express will not do this automatically.

The third method is to use the att.yahoo.com SSL email server for incoming and and the legacy bellsouth.net SMTP server for outgoing. BTW, the fact that you are still allowed to use the legacy mail.bellsouth.net SMTP server is why you are currently able to send but not receive email using the old bellsouth.net settings in Outlook Express.

Well we've got the new PC (Vista 64 and Outlook 7) and same ole situation and settings except we....
We can send and rec. email thru the ATT/Yahoo main web page.
We can send mail but not rec. it thru Outlook. The wife asked if we can just do the "mail" normally thru Outlook? So with Vista & Outlook 7 what settings to do everything thru Outlook alone or is that still posible?

Did you look at any of the instructions that were already provided for you in this thread?
Here is the "official" method straight from the ATT/Yahoo help pages online:

If you actually follow the link to the information, you might notice that it is the same information that was already provided to you in this thread.
Just in case you want to setup ATT/Yahoo email in yet another email client, here is the link from which you can select the client of your choice:

Re: E-mail-can send but not get - DSL Ultra
First thank you for all your help and input. Second I must apologize for my...lets say "cry wolf" without first actually taking time to see what we have instead of assume what we have.
In other words we not only don't have Outlook Express we don't have Outlook Anything! As Red Fox said...Big Dummy! Instead we have just Windows Mail. After looking for the uptenth time on the ATT Help Center I spotted what might be the culprit. One small set of four letters not in the right place. I once again tried the "pop.att.yahoo.com" servers but this time I used the "smtp" for outgoing. I have seen it where both in & out were shown as "pop.att.yahoo.com". Sure enough Windows Mail now works and we can send and rec thru it. In the future I hope not to "cry wolf" so fast.
