Service cancellation - we will keep you hostage
I have been DSLExtreme customer for at least 6-7 years. June 2nd I canceled my service - was kept in annual agreements for 3000-6000/512 service for $50.00 month. Speed was always an issue. Now, I paid June in full and called them to release my line asap so I can put in the U-verse package. CS rep told me that it takes 10- I kid you not - 10 business days and by June 15 it will be released for sure.
June 15 I call U-Verse CS to put through my order and its impossible b/c DSLExtreme still has not released the line. I call them again and I am put on hold for 15 min...and later told that the line can be releases earliest on June 17th. So... I will have service interruption for I do not know how many days.
Just an advise for anybody looking to sign up with this outfit - stay away - they are overpriced, speeds are poor and CS service is pathetic.
For sure I will have a bruhaha with them regarding the modem return - cost of which I surely paid 10 times over these years.
Just stay away from the resellers...

First off, I am sorry to hear about your experiences with DSLExtreme.
Second, DSLExtreme are not "resellers", they do indeed operate their own network, and equipment.
Third, have you contacted anybody on this forum about your issues? You do know that the General Manager of DSLExtreme lingers around here?
About the line release, this is done with every carrier, because a physical person has to swap around wires at the CO office to get you on the right circuit path.
This isn't DSLExtreme's fault.

Oh, sure I understand that.
But - on June 3rd I have been told by CS - "it will take up to 10 days to release the line" and " it will be for sure released by June 15th". And now it will be released on June 17th. Only yesterday!!! DSLX entered release order for June 17th.

It looks like the date the Telco set for cancellation is the 17th. Everything has been processed on our end. The Telco should be able to fully release your line now.
