wireless connection

I have no clue what I am doing. I use a free wireless called linksys, I was online watching a movie a storm hit and the movie froze. Linksys is still connected but cannot get the internet it keeps saying can not communicate with DNS server 65.32.5.111. Does this mean the server is down? I have done everything the link that HP sent me to the last thing was a system restore, which I don't know how to do and would rather not do unless necessary. Will at least wait till tomorrow to see if it is the Dns down. But can still get email on desktop at meishfla@bellsouth.net if anyone has any suggestions.

thank you
michelle

Re: wireless connection

The IP address/domain used by the OP probably depends on which neighbor's WiFi is being leeched. Apparently the post was originally made in the RR forum because the DNS server IP address 65.32.5.111 in question belongs to RR (probably something leftover from a previous leech session from a different neighbor).

Re: wireless connection

Thank you for your response. I have a free wireless in our neighborhood. It says it is free it is linksys. There was a bad storm and I think the server was down as I am on here today. I still want to thank you for your response. It is nice for someone like me as most the time I don't know what I am doing.

Thank you
Michelle

Re: wireless connection

Yes, there are free Linksys hotspots in most neighborhoods.

You can sometimes find free Netgear hotspots as well.

Re: wireless connection

If you are using a free wireless called "linksys", you might be using some else's connection which they have not encrypted, making it available for all within range. Whoever is paying for the connection is entitled to encrypt it, turn it off, or do whatever they like with it.
