Adelphia does well

I have to agree.
I've had the 'standard' HSI package for about 1 1/2 years and other than initial glitches for the first month or so, some of them my fault, I've been very satisfied. My testing consistently produces 3000+ down and 250-400+ up.
For the package price with TV it's a great deal.
My only problem seems to be with my Netgear wireless router MRB14v2, which is being used with cable connections, loosing the connection. Still working on that problem.

Yes, things are a little wacky lately

Dear lithiumnitro,

I have to agree that I was totally spoiled by the Adelphia service. I'm in Santa Monica and have standard HSI. I got about 4800 down and 500 up consistently. On the 3rd there was a major glitch in the evening when upstream speeds were as low as 2kbps (!) as measured by www.testmy.net. When I called tech support, a very earnest but clueless tech tried to get me to delete my temporary Internet files in IE. "But I don't use IE," I told her repeatedly. "That can slow down your computer," she kept telling me. She didn't get it, though I told her several times, that I was measuring network speed, not the speed of my computer. The next morning, everything was fine, and two different techs denied all knowledge of any glitches the night before.
This doesn't give me a good feeling about Time Warner. But I'm a reporter who covers Internet technology. I'll try to buttonhole their CTO at the next cable convention.
