That's not what the article said. It says Netflix's 'Watch Instantly' is hugely popular.

Comcast Exec: We Need To Change Customer Behavior, Not Our B

 Sounds like the control voice from the classic TV Program The Outer Limits. "We will control the Horizontal, we will control the Vertical, we will control all that you see and hear". Add to that: control you thoughts, and I believe that you have Comcasts executives idea in a nutshell. I think Comcast might want to try subliminal thought control first.

Why do they want to change customer behavior: Greed

How will they make more money without adding value to their services: Charge individually for features and service that are already included without adding value.

For Example: Old business model: most CATV customers could receive all basic and extended basic programs through their cable ready television sets without renting additional equipment. New business model: Charge customers to rent Digital Subscriber terminal to receive extended basic programming that they originally received with no additional rental equipment on each television. I call that Digital Proctology!

Comcast Executives should create a new program on their systems called how to squeeze blood out of a turnip.

That quote demonstrates how lost these content providers are (cable/movie/music). Lets fix our customers instead of fixing our product.

I call it covering your ass.

People are thieves and will take whatever they want in the blink of an eye. If you don't nail it down and secure the perimeter with armed guards, people will steal it.

Re: Comcast Exec: We Need To Change Customer Behavior, Not Our B

 I believe it's the other way around. Is moving basic programming to the digital tier so the customer has to rent a digital subscriber terminal fair? The customer use to receive the same programming at no extra charge on their cable ready televisions. Is that covering Comcast's ass. I think it is taking advantage of the customer.

Why do they always try to blame consumers for their own problems? Consumers want cable/media prices to come down a lot, is that ever gonna happen? Not likely.
